Customers at Rosa’s Fresh Pizza in Philadelphia are dishing up generosity a slice at a time, following the lead of the shop’s owner Mason Wartman.
Here’s how it works.
When paying for their food, customers are invited to add a dollar to the total, then write a message on a post-it note and stick it to the wall. A hungry person comes in, pulls the note off the wall, and trades it for a slice of cheesy goodness.
In just 10 months, customers of Rosa’s Fresh Pizza have donated more than 9,000 slices. About 40 people a day benefit from the kindness of pizza-loving strangers. As one customer put it: “We’re all eating the same pizza and it’s delicious.”
